This is Leo. He's a blue snow-leopard which I painted before the Thanksgiving break, but didn't have time to scan or upload until now. He got a little washed out from the scanner, I'll upload a better picture in a bit. Enjoy!

Finished Portrait!

Here is the finished portrait! I apologies for not posting earlier, school started and I've been busy with loads of homework and volleyball. Hope you like it! [This is the first of a set of 3 commissioned work]

Eyes - Angle Profile

You might have noticed that I like to draw eyes... Here is quick snapshot of a work in progress, I was inspired after looking around on deviantart, and decided to try a new "medium". Gel Pens. I'm currently deciding whether or not to continue with smokey greys and smouldering blacks or go with the route I originally planned on, the fearsome uncharted territory of color.

OWL!!!!!

While I haven't actually found my drawing...I did manage to dig up the original picture which i based it off of for any readers out there [I know there are a few, if you become a follower you can get updates! ;) ]

Isn't he majestic though? That's one of the reasons why I chose this picture, that and the eyes really were things I aimed to show in my drawing.

[Fun Fact!] Owls have an innate fear of one another, and so when they take a mate it takes some time and is for life. I can only assume that in the end, they have an extremely strong bond and trust for one another... [more fun facts here: http://www.stumblerz.com/fun-facts-about-owls/]

Hello Again!

I'm really sorry I haven't posted anything in...a month or so, I went to Taiwan for some time and never really had time after that to post! I promise to post something soon though, I've got a doodle in the works.

Eye[s] can be...

the window to someone's soul. So they say, but even if not the soul, eyes are probably the most expressive feature we have. Since I draw portraiture, I decided to practice drawing eyes... and though overall I am pleased with how they turned out, I'll admit they look a little creepy altogether on the page. See for yourself!

[B/W] 1/3 Portrait - 4th Block

So much work still to be done! Here is the portrait after a 20 minute block, as you can see I worked on the clothing and big shadow on his forehead. His eyes need quite a bit of work still [the proportions don't totally work] and the face in general needs a little more depth. These next two weeks are a bit hectic, but I will post another block as soon as I can!

Total Time: 1 hour 40 min.

Happy Chinese New Year!

新年快樂！ In honor of Chinese New Year, I cut out a paper tiger and put it on lucky red paper. All in all it took me a little less than 3 hours, a lot more than I expected [having never done paper cutting before I thought it would be easy]. I looked at a picture of a white tiger drinking from a pool of water to find the proportions, but the stripes and flowers were all freehanded and thought up on the spot! Enjoy!

Oh Dear...

my camera is lost and all the lovely pictures I took to post up here are stuck on the memory card in my camera which is gone. =[

so instead, here is a picture of a nigerian girl which I drew in 2008...enjoy! [again, same stupid scanner problem]

NOTE: I looked at a picture while I drew this, but the photograph is the property of it's owner. When I drew it it was not for commercial purposes or profit and I made a few modifications to the picture. I am currently searching for the original website where I found it, and will post it once I do.

Lost

I lost my Owl Portrait, which I was going to scan and put up this weekend after finishing the last few feathers. =( I'm still going to look for it [no way am I giving up on it after spending 7+ hours on it], but I'm pretty bummed nonetheless.

Hi! Miss me?

I'm sorry I haven't been posting recently, break finished and homework called. However, today I bring you good news! I'm starting a new project [the last one for now, I swear]! It's actually something I tentatively began last year, as it has to do with....COLOR. Colored pencils to be exact. Now what exactly is so scary about color pencils you ask? I'm not too sure, I personally find them more challenging, as shading becomes harder and it becomes more difficult to make it "realistic". Kudos to anyone who can draw in color pencil, I'm just experimenting. =]

I'll post a finished picture once I'm done [I don't want to have multiple works in progress photo reports]. I also promise not to start another piece until I have finished one in progress, this is to make sure I don't drop/forget any pieces and so that I have enough for variety but not enough to bog me down..... With that, expect more pictures in the future!

Baking Gingerbread cookies

One of my best friends and I were baking over the break and though we had tons of fun, I don't think cookie decorating is in either of our futures. They did taste good though!

oh and so I can never think of resolutions/goals/wants on the first so I usually spend the first 3 days thinking of some. Still at the beginning of the year, right? [note none of these are in order of importance, but rather when I thought of them]

GOALS FOR 2010:

1. draw more

2. improve improve improve (drawing)

3. draw in color!

4. maintain good steady grades

5. grow taller! [not sure how well I'll do on this one haha.. currently at 5' 5"]

6. play more sports!

7. read more [not enough time =( ]

8. keep my room clean for at least a month [ha..ha..ha.. pretty sure this won't happen]

9. learn to dance [any really, but mainly hip hop is what I want to learn right now]

10. learn basic korean...[fingers crossed]

11. improve my chinese until fully fluent![ha this might take 2+ years]

12. improve my spanish til I'm really good for year 4

13. improve my french til I'm really good for...year 2?

14. improve at writing [oo this will be tough]

15. become better at public speaking [mock trial helps!]

16. be the best friend I can be =]

17. convert...I mean give.... more of my friends asian music/dramas [3 so far =P]

18. try my hand at painting [aha tried this once...failed miserably -.-']

19. be ORGANIZED. [again, fail]

20. don't procrastinate [as much]
